A Progress Report from the Commodore
November
2004
To those of you who have passed by our
club recently I’m sure you were surprised to see the two immense forty
foot trailers in the parking lot as well as a site office trailer next to
the front entrance. They are visible evidence that something is really
happening here. In the process of totally rebuilding the interior of the
club, all salvageable furniture, fixtures and equipment has been removed,
thoroughly cleaned, and stored in the trailers.
We have stripped the club down to the
bare walls. In fact, many of the walls are gone but will be replaced and
refinished to present you with a refreshing new look throughout. I know
how anxious many of our members are to “get back into our club”. No one
is more anxious to open our doors than your Commodore, your Board of
Directors, and our club manager, who have spent weeks, days and hours on
this task.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to
greet you in the club during the Christmas and New Year holidays but we
expect to have our “grand re-opening” in January. However, it’s been much
too long since we’ve visited with one another so we are planning a joyful
Christmas Party on Saturday, December 18th at The Carriage
House (see details below). The party will feature great food and drink
served by our own service employees with dancing and music supplied by….
yes, the Don Kane Duo. The only change from past Christmas parties will be
the locale.
Now, in order to plan this party
properly, we need all interested members to reserve their table as soon as
possible by calling our office. The address of the Carriage House is 2625
34th Avenue (just west of Piper Aircraft). There is plenty of
parking available. The price of the meal is $24.00 plus tips & tax and
will be billed on your monthly statement. The open bar will also be billed
to your club number.
